Mark the prior day before the open

A cream sheet of abstract prior-day price marks on a dark wood desk

The studio asks sitters to finish the prior-day marks before they watch a single candle of the new session. The open is a poor time to decide where yesterday ended.

Three marks and a pencil

On the session sheet, Elliot rules three lines from the regular session that just closed: the high, the low, and the closing price. The high is the highest traded price of that session, the low the lowest, the close the last price of the session.

We do not borrow the overnight high unless the sitter's market treats the overnight hours as the session they actually follow. Most people at the desk keep either the Korea cash session or the US cash session that falls in the Seoul evening. Pick one and stay with it for the month.

Leave the middle alone

A common sheet arrives covered in lines from every pause in the prior day. Those pauses felt important while they were forming. By the next open they are clutter.

The intensive allows one extra mark only when price left a gap between the prior close and an earlier close, and only if the sitter can point to it without searching. If you have to hunt, it does not go on the sheet.

At the bell

You do not predict. You watch whether the first candles are inside yesterday's high and low or outside them. A candle that trades through the prior high and closes back inside is a different event from a candle that opens beyond the high and stays there.

The sheet exists so that difference is visible in the first minute, not reconstructed after the close when the day has already explained itself.

A week of small pages

For one week, mark only those three levels on a fresh page each evening, and write a single sentence after the session: where price closed relative to the prior high and low. If the sentence grows a second clause about a distant average, leave the clause out.

Bring the pages to the Thursday clinic if you want them read. The point of the week is the repetition, not a clever page on Friday.
