Reason Waypoint teaches the fundamentals of reading an intraday chart to small groups in Bundang. The official registered business name is Reason Waypoint. The studio was established in 2017.

A short history

In late 2016 Mina Cho left a junior post on a Seoul cash-session desk, where her job had been to prepare the prior-day sheet before the open. She began hosting Tuesday evenings in a rented room above a stationery shop in Jeongja-dong. People brought printouts and argued about lines. In 2017 she registered the practice under the name Reason Waypoint so the lease and the invoices carried one name.

The group moved to the present room on Naejeong-ro in 2021, when eight chairs no longer fit upstairs. Elliot Park joined in 2022 to rule the session sheets and to keep returned homework in order. Instruction has stayed in English because several sitters work for foreign firms in Seoul and Pangyo and wanted the vocabulary of the chart in the language they use at their own desks.

Mina Cho

Mina leads the evenings and the private sittings. She still marks a wall chart by hand. Four years on a brokerage desk taught her to finish the prior high, low, and close before the bell; the studio exists so other people can learn that pace without joining a dealing room.

Account decisions stay with the sitter and the sitter's broker. If a visitor wants orders placed for them, Mina says so at the first conversation and names a broker as the right next call.

Elliot Park

Elliot prepares the printed sheets, rules the three prior-session levels, and returns pencil notes on homework. He writes the field note on notebooks when a clinic changes the page layout. On a sitting day he is in the room before anyone else, because a sheet finished during the first hour is already late.

How an evening actually runs

The door opens a quarter of an hour before the start. Coats go on a rail. The sheet for the evening is already at each place, face down, until Mina turns the wall copy. Phones stay in bags once the first example begins. Tea is at the midpoint, and the last twenty minutes are for sentences, not for new charts.

The values are ordinary and strict: mark before you watch, prefer a short sentence to a busy page, and keep one market long enough to see your own habits. The studio is a neighbour to the people who live and work in Bundang. Visitors from Seoul usually come down on the subway and walk from Jeongja.
